Here, we’ll introduce the various Haufen (groups) you can join. Within your Haufen, you’ll be organised on site, able to network and partake in fun activities. We’ll also try to make the work involved in running such a large camp more collective through these Haufen. The aim is to spread the responsibility more widely. Alongside a few reproductive (repro) tasks that will be taken on by people from all Haufen, there will also be tasks assigned exclusively to a specific Haufen.

Depending on which Haufen you join, you’ll be able to take on different tasks during the camp. There aren’t more tasks than usual – they’re just distributed differently. In this way, we want to learn together how to tackle tasks more collectively and enable people to take responsibility for tasks over the longer term. The Haufen will organise the distribution of tasks and life within the Haufen themselves. You can only join one Haufen. No specific prior experience is required for the Haufen – everything can be learnt on the spot, from and with one another. Whisper interpreting will be available in every group. The interpreting Haufen will provide interpreting into German, English and French.

This year at the System Change Camp, camp participants will be organised into different groups, known as ‘Haufen’. Each of these Haufen will take on different tasks to help run the camp together with all the other Haufen. Alongside a few administrative tasks that will be shared amongst people from all the ‘Haufen’, there will also be tasks assigned exclusively to a specific ‘Haufen’. In this way, we aim to learn together how to manage tasks more collectively and enable people to take on responsibility for tasks over the longer term. The ‘Haufen’ will organise the distribution of tasks and life within their own group themselves. As you’re only popping in for a short while, we don’t recommend joining a group and won’t suggest any here. If you’d still like to take on tasks to keep the camp running, the information point is the place to go. There you’ll find rota schedules – for example, for chopping vegetables and washing up, or even night shifts and similar duties – where you’re welcome to sign up. If you’re at the camp in the morning, you’re also welcome to choose a Haufen on the spur of the moment and take on a task there for the day. The Haufen always meet in the morning to organise life at the camp and the tasks that need doing. The locations of the individual meeting points will be clearly marked around the camp.
