14.08. - 26.08. FRANKFURT

Thank you for supporting our camp!

You can also specify your wishes and needs in the form below

At the bottom of the helpers form you can enter when you are available, whether you can imagine taking on longer-term tasks, whether you have a car and whether you need anything else to be able to be there.

It's your first camp and you don't really know what you're getting yourself into?

No problem: we can look for buddies or form small affinity groups for the daily joinin sessions so that everyone feels comfortable.

This survey below helps us to find out if enough people are coming to help.

The tasks themselves will be distributed twice a day during the set-up and dismantling phase on site in a participatory plenary session. There will be one plenary session in the morning and one in the afternoon (you will find the exact times on the SCC website and on site shortly before the start of the camp).
If you would like to take on longer-term responsibility for one or other task during the camp period, the respective structure in which you would like to participate will be available for you and will approach you. This tool will give you the option of leaving a contact where the respective structure can reach you, or you can simply visit the structure yourself on site if you prefer not to provide a contact.

Check in.

Please come to the camp meadow at the time specified by you. The helpers’ pavilion, the participation board, the repro shift plans at the info point or the participation boards are the places where you can find tasks. Feel free to talk to the people jumping around if you have arrived and need help to find your way around!

See you soon at the camp!

Task description for long-term tasks during the camp

Longer-term activities: Below you will be introduced to a few structures that require longer-term support during the camp period. This means that you can take responsibility for a work area or task for a few days and familiarize yourself with the task with the help of a skillshare.

The activities presented here are: participating in the Kitchen, giving Shitbrigade instructions, being a jumper for the ProgramAG, supporting the Moderartions and ProcessWG on site, doing technical support, being a buddy for another person, doing daily assistance for another person, doing nursing assistance, doing arrival and departure assistance, supporting childcare and awareness. You can sign up for the various tasks in the form below and the respective WGs will contact you before the camp.

Kitchen

If you would like to be part of the KüfA (at least 4 days), please fill in the form if you would like to participate. Possible during the entire camp period.

Shitbrigade briefings

If, after a skillshare, you can imagine giving instructions for the cleaning shifts (explaining to people what to clean, how to clean, where to find which cleaning materials and hygiene instructions), please fill in the form below if you would like to take on this task. Possible from August 16-25.

Program-WG jumper

Would you like to get a taste of the ProgramAG? We welcome people who can imagine helping us for a few days at a time. All these tasks are support tasks. You will not have to do all of these tasks or do them alone. You will mainly be needed between August 18-24.

Your tasks would be roughly as follows:

  1. Speaker support: You will welcome speakers, guide them through the camp, show them where everything is, get additional material if necessary and try to forward open questions or concerns to the responsible persons.
  2. Moderation material inventory: You go through the workshop tents before the workshop slots and check whether all the materials that are needed are there.
  3. Statistics: It is always very helpful for us as a program group to know which workshops are well attended and which have fewer participants so that we know which topics should perhaps be offered more the following year. So one task would be to visit the tents during the workshop times and keep statistics on how many participants attend which workshop.
  4. Office work: Unfortunately, printing and sometimes laminating is often necessary at a camp.
  5. Reception: There are contact / reception times in the program tent. During these times, speakers and participants can address questions to the ProgramAG. During these times, speakers can also be reimbursed for their transportation costs and other such questions can be clarified. You would be well trained by us beforehand, there will be a guideline for such “contact points” and there is almost always a person from the Program-AG somewhere nearby who can answer questions.
  6. Fill out the program board: There is always a very large program board at the camp, on which all program items of the respective day are listed. Your task at the end of the day would be to fill the board with the program items for the next day.

You are especially needed between August 18-24. Please fill in the form if you would like to support the Program-AG:

Moderation and process

We are looking for people who have moderation skills and can moderate Orga-Plena, but also emotional exchange rounds and large plena from 17.8 to 24.8 and take responsibility for 1 to 2 days at a time. You are part of an Orga-AG that does moderation, but also needs a break from time to time

Please fill in the form below if you would like to take part.

Technical support

We need people to support our technology club during the entire camp period! Tasks are: Handing out technology to speakers and, if necessary, carrying it to places where it is needed, setting up technology such as projectors and microphones (we will explain this beforehand), possibly supervising concerts and lectures. You do not have to do these tasks alone. The AG is happy to welcome people who can take on these tasks over several days. Please fill in the form if you can imagine this task.

Buddy

As a buddy, you are a caregiver for a person. Depending on their needs, you can go out together at the camp and/or be available for each other. It may help the person if you plan their daily routine and activities together, remind them to take their medication or go for a walk to relax and distract them from excessive demands or loneliness. After the placement, you will first find out together whether your ideas match. We would like you to take on this task for at least two days in order to offer more security through consistency. Needed during the entire camp period! Please fill in the form if you can imagine being a buddy for another person.

Daily living assistance

Everyday support: this can include, for example, pushing people in wheelchairs to the workshop/kitchen/toilet, carrying and handing over objects or accompanying people with visual impairments to the desired location. Depending on your needs, a person will be permanently assigned to you or you will be available on call. Necessary during the entire camp period! Please let us know in the form if you can imagine this task.

Pflegerische Assistenz

This year, we would like to give people who need nursing assistance access to the camp. To do this, we need nursing assistants who are there for the camp participants as required.

What exactly this assistance involves depends on the individual needs of the participants. This could include assistance with general hygiene (e.g. brushing teeth, washing, applying cream, brushing hair, dressing and undressing), showering or going to the toilet, as well as with incontinence material or other aids such as corsets or splints. Transfers between bed, wheelchair, toilet or shower chair may also be required.

Previous experience in the care sector is helpful, but not a prerequisite! We are also very happy to welcome people who are completely new to nursing and open to learning new things. Before the camp, there will be a training course on the basics of care, tailored to the needs of the participants, and we will be on hand to answer any questions, concerns and provide support throughout the camp.

We would like you to take on this role for several days at a time, if possible, in order to create an atmosphere of trust for the participants. Please register for at least two days and let us know how many days you think you can take on. Necessary during the entire camp period! Please write in the form if you can imagine this task.

Arrival and departure assistance

This can include, for example, helping people with mobility impairments to get in and out of vehicles, carrying luggage or providing guidance on the way to the camp. It also includes accompanying people with visual impairments from Frankfurt Central Station to the camp. For this task you are available on call, we will try to let you know one day in advance. Needed from August 14 to August 26. Please write in the form if you can imagine this task.

Childcare

Task: Looking after children, playing with children and doing other cool things!
When: Every day during the workshops, starting 15 minutes before and ending 15 minutes after.
Skillshare: There is an onboarding every day.
How many days: A shift on at least 3 days would be great. We are happy about more days! Possible from August 18 to August 24. Please fill in the form if you would like to provide childcare:

Awareness

We are looking for people who can imagine being available for people seeking help in the awareness tent for the entire camp period (August 14-26). We would like you to take on at least two shifts during the camp. Of course you will receive a skillshare before your first shift. Please fill in the form below if you can imagine this task.
