Before we get started and you share your contribution idea with us, we’d like to give you some important informations about the next steps in the submission process, and especially about our understanding of the camp’s framework.
SUBMISSIONS
We have one submission round this year. Registration is possible until 28.06.2026. Besides submitting your contribution here, you can also use the Open Spaces on site. These offer a more spontaneous opportunity to contribute, running in parallel with the workshop sessions. You will find information about the open spaces in the programme or on site at the info tent.
We will most likely not be able to process any registrations after the 28th of June. We will get back to you approx. 2 weeks after the deadline, so in the beginning of July. The submission is not yet a confirmation for your content.
You can find the submission form at the bottom of this page.
- It takes around 20-30 minutes to complete.
- We recommend that you fill out the form on a laptop or PC rather than a smartphone and read the following information beforehand.
You can NOT fill out the form?
We will help you! We can fill it out together.

GENERAL INFO
The System Change Camp emerged from the climate justice movement and takes place annually to provide a space for encounters, networking, content-related training, skillshares, strategic discussions and cultural programs. This year’s camp will take place in Karlsruhe from 13.08-25.08.2026.
WE NEED YOUR COOPERATION FOR SUCH A DIVERSE PROGRAM!
With your group or as an individual, you can organise a lecture, workshop, information stand, exhibition, concert or any other format you can think of! There are few limits in terms of content. This year there is a focus on
“Behind the barricades – Learning Care Together” (more on this below).
At the same time there will be plenty of space for many different topics and types of content. We aim to create learning spaces focusing on privilege, sensitivity to discrimination and power structures. It is also possible to hold non-public program content, e.g. to create networking spaces for your own community, however we need an early request to organise this. There will also be space for spontaneous contributions at the camp (more information on this will be provided in the program or on site in the information tent). You are welcome to take inspiration from last year’s program.
FOCUS: Behind the Barricades - Learning Care Together!
This year, we want to develop a deeper understanding of what it means to care: for ourselves, for one another, for our relationships, for society, and for the world. In English, the term “care” is used in this context and can be translated into German as Sorge or Fürsorge.
Concrete forms of care work that are often discussed in society include, among others, raising children, caring for elderly and sick people, providing assistance for disabled people, unpaid housework, and much more. This work is often distributed very unequally and is carried out to a particular extent by marginalized people.
At this year’s camp, we do not only want to discuss care theoretically, but also place it at the center of our everyday practices.
What do people need in order to care well for themselves and for others? How can we not only give care, but also receive it?
- What kinds of structures foster trust, solidarity, and a fair distribution of responsibility?
- And what would society look like if care were no longer pushed to the margins, but placed at the center of our actions?
- What can we learn from past and present forms of care work? How has care work been organized, shaped and lived differently, both historically and today?
Behind the Barricades, we ask what potential lies in caring forms of togetherness beyond isolation, overload, and exploitation, and what possible paths toward such a society might look like.
MARKET OF POSSIBILITIES
We will be organising a ‘Market of Possibilities’ again this year:
This is a space where different political groups from the left spectrum can introduce themselves and get in touch with interested people from the camp. You can register for this in the form at the end of the submission form.
REMOVING BARRIERS
We want as many people as possible to be able to take part in the camp. That’s why we take care to remove barriers – i.e. obstacles that could prevent people from taking part.
For workshops and other content
We are very happy if your content is designed to be barrier-free and will be happy to give you tips on how to do this.
Language: We ask all speakers to use easily understandable language. This helps people who are new to activism and people for whom the German language is a challenge. We are particularly happy if you can offer your content in simple or easy language.
-
SIMPLE LANGUAGE means using short and clear sentences, using simple words and formulating them as actively as possible. Pictures can also help to make content easier to understand.
-
EASY LANGUAGE goes even further: it follows fixed rules and is particularly aimed at people with learning difficulties. Texts in plain language should be checked and particularly easy to understand.
Translations: If you would like to have your program item translated into another language and cannot organize this yourself, we can support you. Please send us an e-mail in good time to let us know the content and languages for which you need the translation. We will do our best to find a suitable solution. If you can work for us as a translator yourself, we would be delighted to have your support.
If you are able to support us as a translator, we would be very grateful for your help.
For people offering content at the camp
We can also offer you as a speaker a variety of support for overcoming barriers. For this we offer you:
- Translations
- Technical support

We are happy to support you. If you would like to accept the offer, please send us an email as early as possible to with the subject “Support search”.
